🤝 Tight-Knit Community Means Trust
We've built what we believe is one of the best creative experiences available, centered on two core principles: trust and empowerment.
Trust
We trust you with the tools you need to be truly creative and have fun. There are no arbitrary restrictions holding you back.
- Entityes - The technical name for animals, monsters, etc: Allowed.
- Redstone - Minecraft's loose analogue to electricity, which is useful for controlling and activating a variety of mechanisms: Allowed.
- NBT - Special metadata extending regular functionality of items, blocks, and entities: Allowed.
- Litematica - A build blueprint client-side modification: Allowed (except during official build competitions).
Empowerment
Many servers place frustrating limits on players. We do things differently.
- No Skill Ranks: We celebrate all building styles and ways of play. You have the freedom to create or explore what you love without judgment.
- No Paywalls: Essential tools like WorldEdit are free for everyone, always. We don't gatekeep creativity.
- Your Creations are Yours: You can download a copy of your planet at any time with a simple command (/p export). Take your work with you, no questions asked.
👥 Play Together: Java & Bedrock
Connect with friends no matter what device they use. We support the latest versions of Minecraft for both Java and Bedrock, allowing everyone to play together in the same world.
⚠️ Limitations
In the spirit of transparency, here's what to expect:
- Resource Requests: We're happy to consider requests for additional planet slots or larger world borders, but we grant them based on genuine need to ensure fairness and server resource longevity.
- Planet Inactivity: To keep the server running smoothly for active players, planets may be cleared after 6 months of owner inactivity. This is far less likely for well-developed worlds or for active members of our community. This policy ensures we have space for new creations now and in the future.
- Development Time: As a busy university student, Martin's time is limited. Updates may be infrequent, and some will be “backend” improvements that aren't immediately visible. While he can't be in-game daily, he is active on Discord and typically responds to messages within 24 hours.

Does Libre Galaxy Games support Axiom?
No, we do not support Axiom because it does not meet our open-source software requirements and requires a commercial license.
Will Libre Galaxy Games switch to Fabric?
Not anytime soon. Our backend servers are built on Purpur and plugins supporting the Bukkit/Spigot/Paper lineage platform. The planets system, among other things, is custom-written for that target platform. Switching to another server software would require a complete rewrite of all custom software.
The Fabric question comes from a reasonable place. Fabric is often seen as more performant, adheres to vanilla game logic, and can be expanded with high-quality mods. Additionally, our team has identified Fabric-specific mods we would like to implement if there were to be a switch, including Moderner Beta to enable legacy terrain generation for planets.
Libre Galaxy Games is run by Martin and dedicated volunteers, with Martin serving as the sole infrastructure manager and custom software developer. As a university student managing these responsibilities, learning new APIs and rewriting the entire codebase isn't feasible at this time.
We are lucky that Purpur is performant enough, has reasonable vanilla game logic parity, and has a thriving free and open-source software ecosystem to enable the best experience possible for our player community. The server software question will be revisited once the server reaches a stable 1.0 release.
What clients and mods can I use while I play?
Modifications can have a wide range of functionality, such as improving performance or adding new content to the game. However, not all mods are allowed everywhere on Libre Galaxy Games. You may use the modifications below at your own risk. They are trusted modifications that are unlikely to result in a punishment, but user discretion is still advised. These rules may change at any time.
Global
Mods Types:
- Performance
You may use any mod that helps run the game smoother, such as Sodium, Lithium, Phosphor, and Dynamic FPS.
- APIs
You may use any mod that provides code for another mod to work, such as the Fabric API.
- Client Managers
You may use any mod that helps you manage and configure your client, such as Mod Menu.
- Non-Gameplay Changing Client Tweaks
You may use any mod that doesn't provide you with any unfair advantages and is used for utility purposes, such as Remove Reloading Screen, Paginated Advancements, and No Chat Reports.
- Accessability
You may use any mod that one might use for accessability purposes, such as Zoomify and FullBright.
How do I set rules for my planet?
All players on Libre Galaxy must abide by our Community Guidelines. Planet owners may wish to create additional rules, typically communicated though signs at the planet spawn, as they see fit. The additional rules must not break the Community Guidelines.
Can I play with multiple accounts ("alts")?
You may use Libre Galaxy Games with multiple accounts only if the following conditions are met:
- User discloses their connection to both accounts where appropriate.
- User does not use accounts for unfair advantages, such as additional planet slots.
A common reason for using alternative accounts includes playing Libre Galaxy Games across multiple platforms. For example, one account may be a Minecraft: Java Edition account used on your computer, while another may be a Minecraft: Bedrock Edition account (Xbox Gamertag) used on your smartphone.

Why Delete My Planet?
Your planet world may be deleted for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to the following reasons:
1. Little to no changes from the original template.
The following world features the default spawn structure with seemingly random blocks destroyed and placed by the world owner.
Use arrow keys or WASD to rotate panorama. Use mouse wheel to zoom. Press F for fullscreen.
2. Builds can be remade quickly.
The following world features a build that can be recreated by an average player in under 30 minutes with WorldEdit.

Are you saying my builds need to be professional to be kept?
No, not necessarily. While impressive builds are encouraged (everyone can achieve things beyond initial expectations), our admin team specifically consideres competent effort and care as core considerations. Here's a soulful example of a world where friends had fun building various things that fulfills those standards:
Use arrow keys or WASD to rotate panorama. Use mouse wheel to zoom. Press F for fullscreen.
All Points of Consideration
Your creation does NOT need to fulfill all of this criteria to be kept long-term IF it is strong in just a few areas.
- Login activity and playtime of owner(s).
- At minimum 30 minutes of in-game playtime in the last 6 months.
- Competent effort.
- Competent care.
- Benefit to our community.
- Does it produce awe or inspiration? Does it teach something?
- Owner(s) are well-regarded community members.
- Follow our Community Guidelines and have positive interactions with other community members.
- Pro Tip: Be friendly towards Martin.
